COMMUNITY OUTREACH

Calvary St. Augustine Episcopal Church provides several community outreach programs throughout the year. Contact the church office for more information.  Listed below are a few programs offered.

 

GIVE-AWAYS:  Clothing give-aways and food baskets are given away to members of the community who are in need.  Local school children and youth of Calvary St. Augustine Episcopal Church receive a special gift during the Christmas season.

 

WELLNESS DAYS:  A health fair is offered annually providing a host of information from local health organizations.

 

YOUTH FUN DAYS:  Movies, games and more are offered to youth in the community for fellowship and fun.

 

Calvary St. Augustine Episcopal Church also partners in Community Outreach with the following organizations.

 

POWER:  Participation in the Philadelphians Organized to Witness, Empower and Rebuild (POWER), an interfaith, interracial and multicultural group of up to 40 congregations city-wide working together to achieve social justice within the city.  The organization's current focus is increasing jobs within Philadelphia.  For more information contact www.powerphiladelphia.org.

 

STEPCDC:  Striving Together Empowering People Community Development Corporation (STEP CDC), a non-profit 501 (C) 3 status through which community residents have access to on-going programs.  This organization exists to offer opportunity and services to children and adults in the Belmont section of Philadelphia that will improve the quality of lives by enhancing personal and family growth and offering increased economical and educational opportunities.  For more information send an email to stepcdc@gmail.com.

 

UIMOJA:  A  partnership with University Of Penn and Calvary St. Augustine - the community will learn ways to keep Healthy, fit, and strong by  learning signs symptoms  off wellness  for men, women, young and well seasoned people in the surround community. Healthy life styles for all. See event page for information.
